Bonding & Grounding
This course is for workers who dispense flammable liquids. When bonding and grounding are not adequate and/or workers are not knowledgeable about the hazards associated with static electricity, serious injuries and fatalities, as well as equipment and product damage can occur.
Participants will:
- Familiarize themselves with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Regulations for Industrial Establishments, and Ontario Fire Code requirements.
- Be able to define the following terms: bonding, grounding, conductor/conductive path and static.
- Understand how static electricity forms.
- Identify the hazards and controls of static electricity and fire and explosion ranges.
- Demonstrate how to effectively bond and ground containers.

Supervisors and Employees who dispense flammable and combustible liquids, i.e., paint and maintenance employees

2 hours
